Los Carmelitas son una orden religiosa nacida en el siglo XII en el Monte Carmelo (Tierra Santa), que desarrollaron una fuerte veneración a la Virgen María, bajo el título de "Nuestra Señora del Monte Carmelo," como modelo de oración, pureza y obediencia.
